The Good Roll Pillow – A Personal Journey and Detailed Review

Note: This is not a paid advertisement. The following account is my personal experience with The Good Roll.

A few fortnights ago, I checked my mail and found myself in possession of an unusual package. The sender? A certain ‘thegoodchiropractor‘ from Instagram. “A pillow?” I mused aloud, as I lifted the object from its box. But alas! This was no ordinary cushion for one’s weary head. No, this was The Good Roll, a corrective, therapeutic pillow crafted with care by Dr. KenGee himself.

One ought to note that this isn’t your typical soft, fluffy headrest for a night of dream-filled slumber. It’s designed with purpose, its mission to help correct posture by supporting the natural curvature of the neck. In my hands, I held a tool for change, a promise for better days ahead.

I received a DM from Dr. KenGee, filled with tips and hints to help me get started on my journey with this unique pillow. “Start with 30 minutes at a time”, he advised, a gentle reminder that change can be slow but fruitful.

So I embarked on a 30-day journey, a sojourn of self-improvement, armed with my Good Roll and a packet of lavender. The lavender packet, a thoughtful addition, filled my space with a calming fragrance turning each session with the pillow into a tranquil experience. I confess I even dozed off a few times, lulled to sleep by the soft aroma.

Eventually from my bed to my car, The Good Roll accompanied me. I used it as a support in the gap behind my neck on long highway drives and even for quick 20-minute power naps. Its presence was constant and reassuring, a silent promise of better posture and overall well-being.

Intriguingly, after the first week of this journey, I observed an interesting development. My initial 30-minute stints with the Good Roll grew longer, sometimes extending over two hours. My neck, once resistant to the unfamiliar support, now welcomed it. Gradually I began to notice the shifts in my posture, subtle but significant.

During a recent session with my acupuncturist, she observed “Your posture seems better.” I couldn’t help but grin, sharing the secret of my newfound spinal alignment – The Good Roll. She expressed an interest in checking it out, intrigued by my glowing review.

Oh, but my tale of transformation doesn’t end there. After a month of consistent use, I found that I could now sleep through the night with The Good Roll. On the rare occasion that I’d shift out of the correct position, I’d simply readjust the pillow, and drift back to sleep. The change was impressive, especially considering the short span of 32 odd days.

If I were to examine the pros and cons of my experience, I’d certainly have a few to share. The initial adjustment period can be a bit uncomfortable, but don’t let that deter you! It’s a small hurdle on the path to better posture and comfort. Plus, the lavender scent adds a relaxing touch to the experience, making each session feel more like a treat than a chore.

Pros:

  • Corrects posture over time.
  • Provides adjustable firmness to suit individual needs. (I prefer firm mode)
  • Organic Buckwheat Hulls filling is hypoallergenic and pest-free.
  • Can be used with a soothing Lavender Boost for enhanced relaxation.
  • Portable and versatile – can be used at home, in the car, or even at the office.

Cons:

  • The initial adjustment period can be uncomfortable.

Even if you’re not in the market for a corrective pillow, I highly recommend following thegoodchiropractor on Instagram. His posts are informative and entertaining. From his jovial interactions correcting his patients and daughters, to his world-record-breaking deadlifts, there’s never a dull moment with Dr. KenGee Ehrlich and his wife (WWE Champ Candice Michelle).
